My Spectrum of Support
When thinking of a spectrum, I envision a range of colors. The edges are deep, defined, concrete; the center a beautiful mixture of the qualities and characteristics of its more defined counterparts. For those of us who are deeply touched by individuals on the Autism Spectrum, this definition - this image - holds a face, a name, a feeling.
When I think of the support I have provided to those on the spectrum,
I too find my identity in a spectrum - a spectrum of support.

Educator
As an educator, I have been shaped by the many students I have taught who are on the autism spectrum. Through collaboration with skilled colleagues and ongoing professional learning, I have developed a strong understanding of strategies, tools, and practices that support neurodiverse learners.

Leader
Through my experiences in both the classroom and at home, I have gained a powerful perspective on what meaningful support looks like across settings. As an instructional coach, professional developer, and public speaker, I have the opportunity to share this unique, dual-lens journey with others.

Learner
As a learner, I am continually growing—challenged and changed by daily experiences, new understandings, and the voices of those around me. My learning happens in real time, shaped by reflection, curiosity, and a willingness to adapt as I navigate education, leadership, and family life.

Parent
I am the parent of two sons, one of whom is on the autism spectrum. When my oldest son, Dawson, was identified shortly after his fourth birthday, our family began a journey of learning, advocacy, and intentional support. Together, my husband and I continue to seek out resources, strategies, and tools that support Dawson—and strengthen our family as a whole.
